Mr Jonathan Neale
Jonathan Neale is a technology business leader with 35 years’ experience working with global leaders in high performance, Formula 1, automotive technology, aerospace and defence, encompassing strategy development and deployment, directing operations, manufacturing and commercial activities at pace in hugely competitive, high-pressured industries.
He is a passionate and active supporter of the Anne Rowling Clinic, making a significant contribution to the Clinic's portfolio of digital projects, including a digital pathfinder project with industry, and supervision of postgraduate students.
Prior to becoming Non-Executive Chairman at Filtronic, Jonathan had been Group Chief Operating Officer of McLaren Group Ltd for the previous five years. Between 2001 and 2016, he held a number of executive positions, including Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing F1. Before that, he spent 15 years in the aerospace and defence industry and had been at BAE Systems, UK, as Managing Director – Hawk Military Aircraft.
Jonathan graduated from the University of Nottingham with an honours degree in physics, has a masters degree in business administration and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors; a council member of the charity The Foundation for Science and Technology; a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology; and a Chartered Engineer.
