Caitlin McLean
Caitlin joined the Clinic as a Graduate Research Practitioner in July 2026. In this role, she collaborates across numerous research teams to support clinical trial implementation. Her responsibilities include supporting with recruitment efforts and conducting patient visits, data collection and sample processing.
Caitlin holds a distinction in an MEng Biomedical Engineering degree from the University of Strathclyde. Her Bachelors dissertation included analysing gait symmetry recovery in chronic stroke survivors following an 8-week gamified locomotor rehabilitation program. During this role, she supported physiotherapy sessions and built important patient relationships.
While at university, Caitlin was selected through a competitive entrepreneurial programme to intern at Optos, a retinal medical device manufacturer. These experiences, along with her group master’s project conducted in collaboration with a clinician at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow, has shaped her passion for advancing research and clinical practice in neurological diseases.
